A Bit of Clean
I should dust the lounge and the bedrooms.
I should vacuum the hall and the stairs.
I should hang up the washing to dry on the line.
I should put all the socks into pairs.
I should then clean the toilets and basins.
I should bleach all the sinks and the shower.
I should mop the kitchen and scrub 'round the bath.
I'll just put it off for an hour.
And now I should tackle the garden.
The ironing will just have to wait.
There's lawns to be mowed and there's bushes to trim.
And I really must repair that gate.
The patio needs a good hosing.
The pear tree could do with a trim.
I'll go back inside. It's a good place to hide.
Should I quit now and go for a swim?
The beds need an airing - then changing.
The ironing still needs to be done.
There's a ton left to do. I should do it it's true.
A tennis game sounds much more fun.
The sun's shining down in its glory
This spring cleaning lark is a pain.
I'll clean, scrub and dust but it's not a must.
Next week I must do it again.
So I'm off for a beer and a nibble.
Some lunch with a good friend of mine.
On returning I'll see all the mess and debris.
I'll do it tomorrow. It's fine.
