Heather
The heather is a sturdy plant
It won’t be dominated
It’s tough, resilient, won’t give in
I feel that must be stated
The heather paints the hillsides mauve
The moorland decorated
With blooms that turn the landscape bright
It can’t be simulated
The heather is a useful plant
It’s quite uncomplicated
As food, in dyes and fragrant scent
It’s very understated
I have a friend called Heather
She is tough, resilient too
She brightens up the place she’s in
She helpful, kind and true
It’s good to have a friend like this
She is uncomplicated
And tells things as she sees them
She is much appreciated
