Toys
I am six and I have many toys.
Some are plastic and make lots of noise
There are some made of steel
That when trodden on feel
Very painful. Which no-one enjoys
I've a rifle that fires large foam darts
And a huge metal truck that's in parts
I've a large jigsaw set
That I haven't done yet
Although I have made many starts
I have marbles I leave on the stairs
And my comics on tables and chairs
Of electronic stuff
I cannot get enough
But most are in need of repairs
My Lego is my pride a joy
I'd say it's my favourite toy
Dad must be quite thick
For he'll step on a brick
Yelling , 'I'm going to strangle that boy! '
I'm a victim of my own success
It's the reason I leave all this mess
I get given too much
Birthdays, Christmas and such
Which causes my parents distress
A point that I must reinforce
Is that I'm very lucky, of course
My ambition's to try
And get my folks to buy
A guinea pig, python and horse
I will clean and look after them all
The cages, vivarium, stall
But there's sadly no hope
They say I wouldn't cope
It's like trying to talk to a wall
