Light of Glory
And through the lightless passages of time
In lost, elusive, memories we roam
Winding in the darkness of our dreams
Searching, ever searching for a home.
The way is long. We wander from the path
We make our choices and we travel on
Time passes and we seek to do what's right
The journey's hard and soon our time is gone
Soon our time is gone
Then through the darkness comes the light
A light that tells a story
A guiding, reassuring glow
That heralds hope and glory
To every man and woman
To every new born child
To all who walk upon the earth
The strong, the weak, the mild.
Let this light be comforting
The hope of ecstasy
Be warmed, be comforted, be glad.
The light that sets us free.
If weakened then the light will make us strong
If injured then the light will make us whole
When lonely then the light will be our friend
If lost the light will lead us to our goal
The razor teeth of winter's icy nights
Can pierce the very essence of the soul
Let advent's guiding beacon play its part
To warm, inspire, give comfort and console.
It is a symbol of the faith we seek
It shines to lead us forward in our quest
A sign that lets us know that hope is strong
That faith and courage beat within our breast
Beat within our breast
We know that with each other we grow strong
The light becomes more radiant and pure
By reaching to each other we'll succeed
And share the light of glory, And share the light of glory,
And share the light of glory evermore.
