Spring
A river mist, the chilly breath of spring , exhaled by thawing earth
Tears of dew are drooping diamonds on the bowing grass
Fresh leaves unfurl like tiny opening palms and catch the cloudy air
As the sun's spring haze slides through boughs awakening
Cold buds that bring promise, hope, redemption, waiting for the world to warm
Ripples on the river show the resurrected fish kissing the surface
Gulping in the new day with anticipation
Clouds, fresh and energetic frolic and roll above the woods
Framed by a cobalt sky
The cattle exhale deep breaths of moist, warm, vapour
As new born calves inhale the sharp, cold air
Breathe deep. Breathe deep. In hope and expectation
Let the emerging world be free from strife
For here begins another generation.
Inhale the uncorrupted fount of life
